A Visit from Korea: Welcoming Hanyang University to Kpop Nonstop

A Visit from Seoul — and a Step Closer to Korea

In January 2025, K-pop Nonstop in Stockholm welcomed two special guests from Hanyang University’s Institute of International Education in Seoul. What followed was a warm, inspiring meeting filled with future visions, cultural curiosity — and even a surprise gift including Korean cookies and their signature mascot (the adorable HYLION mascot was an instant favorite!). We shared the treats with students who happened to be on site — a small moment that created big smiles.

That visit marked the beginning of something special.

Just a few months later, during Comic Con Stockholm, we had the honor of announcing a new partnership: two scholarships for a short-term Korean language and culture program at Hanyang University in Seoul — awarded to the winners of our K-pop Dance Contest. It was a moment filled with joy, pride, and possibility.

“The two scholarships from Hanyang University were an incredible addition to our K-pop Dance Contest — and truly elevated the experience for both participants and audience,” said Claudia Rios, Creative Director at K-pop Nonstop.

“It was a huge milestone for us to offer something this meaningful. The winners were absolutely thrilled.”

The announcement was met with an outpouring of excitement both on-site and online, reaching new audiences through our own channels as well as Comic Con Stockholm’s official platforms.

Hanyang University, one of Korea’s most respected academic institutions, sees this as part of a broader vision to expand cultural outreach to Europe.

“Hope to see the students in our institute,” wrote Hanyang’s representative Harry C.

“Looking forward to continue working with Kpop Nonstop in the future.”

The collaboration not only brought visibility to Hanyang’s academic programs, but also reflected our shared belief in meaningful international exchange — something we aim to continue developing together.

More than a prize, this initiative opened a door.

“We’re proud to help share Hanyang’s name here in Sweden and beyond,” said Claudia.

“We believe in creating real opportunities, and this partnership is just the beginning.”
